Cat Training Tricks - Find Them Here

By F. Bournston
Cats are often very independent animals, sometimes too independent. However, this isn't always the case. Some cats can be very clingy and needy, and sometimes at the worst times and in the worst places. Nothing is worse than having a badly behaved cat, especially one that thinks it doesn't need to follow any house rules at all.

Cats that think they rule the roost will bite, scratch, pinch food, and possibly even stop using their litter tray. In a situation like that, you need to establish what the basic rules are.

Some cats find training very easy, whereas others will need more time to adjust. However, with a bit of patience you will be able to get your can to become better behaved.

The sooner you start your cat training the better. It doesn't matter whether it's an old cat or a new kitten, from the first day you get them you need to set the rules. Make sure you stick to your rules, and never deviate, so that the cat always knows what's going on and doesn't get confused. Also, don't shout at the cat every day. If you shout all the time, the cat will just get used to this and start to ignore it.

Cats love receiving treats and rewards, so incorporate this into your training regime. However, you must make sure the cat receives the treat immediately after the good behavior; otherwise it won't link the two. If done correctly, this kind of positive training can be extremely effective.

However, whatever route you take to train your cat, remember that all cats are different. Not all cats will adapt quickly to being trained. Patience and perseverance is the key.
